i want a texas flag

IMO, it would have been a nice touch if everything else was working... search is still hit or miss, mys2k still sucks, there's still no way to deteremine if you've replied to a thread already, and other large chunks of v3 functionality are still MIA. But we have flags!

 

fyi - search is a VERY difficult application to do well. At my company our main client just bought a google box to do searching on their sites, but that is VERY VERY expensive. To wrap your own search stuff that is speedy is one of the harder tasks around these days....which is why google is so rad.

What I'm saying is, cut them some slack. It's the most important thing, but it's orders of magnitude more difficult to implement than anything else.

but yeah, i want mys2k cleaner. It's better than it is on some other forums i belong to though.

The standard vB search used on either sites is reasonably fast and reasonably effective. Old versions of s2ki's search worked fairly well. Suddenly it's impossible? I don't even care if it's fast; if I search for "hockey" in the corner, it damn well better find "the semi-official hockey thread". Is that too much to ask?

 

I'm betting it has something to do with how many more people are on the site now a days
