60-120 meteors per hour from a dark location.

I'm not sure we'll have visibility tonight, but I'll check.

The meteors appear to emanate from the constellation Gemini (hence the name Geminids). Gemini is low in the east in the early evening, higher in the sky to the south later, when meteor frequency will increase.

You don't approach a meteor shower with a scope or binocs. Too wide a field of view, fast moving, and unanticipated individual events. Best bet is a dark location on a lawn chair dressed warmly.
