Gotta love lack of freedom of speech!
Jay, your point may or may not be valid but
1. Freedom of speech doesn't mean that you can shout "fire" in a crowded theater. I missed the original thread so I can't comment on what you did that was so "inappropriate". However,
2. This board is not protected by the first ammendment. The mods try to be fair to everyone but when they see that something is "out of line" they'll step in.
3. The corner is not a place you can come whine about the mods (this is mostly true, ask wicky). So let the issue die. Let this thread die. If you play nice, in the future, your rant may carry more weight here.

This is a private forum.
It is not possible for a person to be censured on here, only the GOVERNMENT can censor an individual.
If a moderator feels that he/she finds something in bad taste, per the agreement you digitally signed, they can remove a particular post and/or image.
Same way if a member/guest threatens another member/guest, they can block that member/guest.
It's all in the agreement. If you don't like it, start your own forum, with your own rules.

YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH HERE. It is a PRIVATE forum, subject to the rules and regulations set forth in the agreement YOU digitally signed.

Then you are posing as a big man possibly from your "moderator" status. My whole point was censorship both publically and privately. And I wanted to see how different dealt with it. I can see from this thread there definately is a difference with how each moderator operates. Some do so very professionally (hence the title as moderator) some are just as childish as I have been accused of being.
Other posters actually expanded on what I had to say and brought in very good points (hence expanding the consciousness of the board). Whereas other posters just drew attention away from the subject and all the eyes towards them.
We are "members" of the board and should be able to voice our opinions. I might have posted in the wrong forum (ie So Cal instead of Politics and Current events) and I apologize for that. But to say I have no right to say the things I have said is
ing wrong.
So I will give the floor back to you. Thanks keeping discrimination alive and well in the 21st Century. It is soooo obvious to me now that my ideas are not welcome and people would prefer to stay small minded and sheltered from the big bad world (too bad for them). I thought that this community was filled with cool ppl until this week. I guess I will retire my rose colored glasses and trade the car in for something where more ppl that drive them are cool not just posers.

I'm not sure what this censorship issue is that you keep ranting about? Well, let me rephrase that, I'm not sure why you're ranting about it. I DO understand what censorship is and the issue that you are specifically referencing...I just think it's silly.
Now if you had some valid but unpopular viewpoint that was not previously called out as a taboo subject and someone went out of their way to quiet you I could see your point, but the issue in question was something that had been previously deemed inappropriate on the board so it was canned.
If you're going to cry wolf...please be sure to see a wolf first...

For the record, I NEVER said you didn't have the right to say what you wanted to say...and I've made absolutely no attempt to stop you. You want to post here in the Corner, please feel absolutely free to post what's on your mind. I won't censor you unless you post something that has previously been deemed inappropriate. You can argue with me...mock me...whatever. I really don't care.
All I ever said is that the post you started this thread with...and the rant associated with it...weren't worthy of respect from me. If you show me that I'm wrong, I'm more than willing to either change my tune or maybe even apologize...but I haven't seen anything that would sway me in that direction yet.
For the record, this board is privately owned, so please don't confuse it with a public arena where you have all the rights to free speech that you might have in the outside world. Also, please don't confuse freedom of speech (the right to say what you want) with freedom from mockery for that speech. I'm just as free to say about you and your thoughts what I want as you are to speak out in the first place.
I haven't now, nor do I intend to start, censoring people. Please stop crying because respect doesn't automatically come along with your ideas...

Jay just seems to have taken this on as a cause for some reason. THAT'S what I'm unclear on...
