I just had a carne asada soft taco, a relleno, and a chicken tamale for lunch at the El Portal. The owner, Abel Ramirez, is our friend. He grew up in Merida and the restaurant specializes in Yucatecan cuisine.

I had two tortas. One with Birria Di Chivo, and the other with Al Pastor.

Most people in Mexico have never heard of Cinco de Mayo.

They understand Cinco de Mayo. It's the day before Seis de Mayo and a day after Quatro de Mayo.
