Today marks the Autumnal Exuinox at 11:46 AM EDT and 8:46 AM PDT, one of two annual moments in time, along with the Vernal Equinox, when the sun crosses the equator and day and night everywhere are of equal length. It is either of two points on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator intersects the ecliptic, the great circle of the celestial sphere that is the apparent path of the sun among the stars or of the earth as seen from the sun -- a great circle drawn on a terrestial globe making an angle of approximately 23
