Default Happy National PB&J Day!

That’s right everyone, today is the day to celebrate America’s favorite sandwich!

On April 2 we celebrate the good old combination of PB&J which is timeless and always delicious.

In a survey that was done in 2002, it was revealed that the average American who loves their good old peanut butter and jelly lunch, eats 1,500 sandwiches before graduating high school. Oh yeah.

One of the reasons Americans love their PB&J so much? It’s the easiest sandwich to slap together in the morning. Thanks to Smuckers, who made it even simpler in 1968 when they revealed “Goober,” a jar containing both peanut butter and jelly. What could be better?

Did you know that the peanut butter and jelly sandwich was invented by American soldiers? In World War II the soldiers mixed their jelly rations with their peanut butter rations in order to created the famous duo. When they came home from the war, PB&J sales inflated, according to Punchbowl.com.

As much as anyone loves PB&J, it’s good to mix it up every once in awhile. Some popular additions to the peanut butter and jelly sandwich are throwing in some bananas, marshmallow fluff, honey, or even pickles, bacon, or onions. Okay, the last half sounds kind weird, but trying new things is always good, right?

ABC News provided some professional version of PB&J if you’re interested in trying a unique spin on the favorite combo.

1.The Malibu Inn‘s Deep Fried PB&J: Deep frying makes everything better!

2.Dirty Bird’s PB&J Wings: Who doesn’t love chicken wings? Why not try chucking out the buffalo sauce for some peanut sauce and then drizzle in strawberry sauce.

3. PBJ’s Smokin Goat: Like Mediterranean flavors? This variation includes kalamata olive bread, almond butter, bacon, goat cheese and fig jam. Hm.

4.Peanut Butter & Co’s Pregnant Lady: Just what you’re expecting, a PB&J containing peanut butter and pickles. Delicious?

Do you find any of these unique variations enticing?

Ammonium perchlorate has befouled many a groundwater basin beneath or nearby a hard rock quarry in Corona.
