In all seriousness, though, I agree completely. As 'bad' as things may seem, we need not worry (too much
) about our leaders killing us for disagreeing; death squads won't be showing up in our towns looking to kill the man, rape the women, and leave the children to die; hordes of locusts will not eat our meager food supply; and so on and so forth. It's good to be Americans (and Canadians!), and we should be thinking of our ancestors (figurative in some cases, literal in others) who risked life & limb to make this place what it is.

BTW, I believe the Pilgrims actually decided to look for land because their love-boat sucked after they ran out of beer
