Happy Thanksgiving, all. We're off to Big Bear.
Tomorrow morning Mrs. Raptor, Milo, PJ, Virginia (mother-in-law, groan), and I are off to Big Bear for four nights. Lost of Astronomy and eating.
And here's the big news. We always stay at the same place for Thanksgiving, Summer, and sometimes another time because it's ideal/unique for Astronomy and my big scope. I've been trying to buy it for five years. Guy won't sell. Thursday, the rental agent, who's my buddy, calls to say the guy now gets altitude sickness, can't stay overnight, and is going to have to sell. I told her "Let's sit down when we're up there. If you can demonstrate to me that its rental history indicates that revenue will cover the mortgage, taxes, and upkeep, we'll talk seriously."

Hey...I was just in Lake Arrowhead....and Big Bear.. I went boarding...there was like not snow up there......
It is crazy seeing the fire area...its like death and decay out there...looks sad
but it will all grow back 
have a good time...

When we showed up Wednesday, the rental agent said "Now they don't think they want to sell. They're holding off." The next door neighbors, who have become our friends and hate the owners, gave me their number. I'm going to go around the rental agent and make them an offer. I'll keep you posted.
Not a lot of snow yet. Two nights of good Astronomy. The burn area on the way up was huge and genuinely awful.
