Actually, Mom, the Winter Solstice occurred at 10:08 PM last night on the west coast. That moment marked the Winter Solstice, one of two points (along with the Summer Solstice) on the ecliptic, the great circle of the celestial sphere that is the apparent path of the sun among the stars or of the earth as seen from the sun (the plane of the earth's orbit extended to meet the celestial sphere), at which its distance from the celestial sphere is greatest and which is reached by the sun each year at approximately this time.

I saw a few last year, but this year I've seen way more. Neat idea...Just not my thing to have some huge inflatable thing on my front lawn.

yeah I nicknamed my next door neighbor Clark cuz he haz this fairly large display he sets up every year butt I will say that this year he was late @ getting it out and it just wasnt the same I called him n complained sayin I couldn't get in the spirit of shopping till I saw it

& yeah he did add a huge blow up snowman last year

I wouldn't have one myself either but I guess they are fun for the kiddies to see till they think its a bounce room n try n get in
