Driver stole the car, endangered numerous lives--yet you excuse it?

He should have had the living shit beat out of him, on camera, so that maybe next time, when a car thief decides to run, he might actually stop & think and decide not to run.

Rodney King his ass twice.

Dave, you're trying to make a rational statement about otherwise irrational behavior.

It's the self-restraint mechanism itself that is deficient.

no... you are giving him an excuse to get lesser punishment. Rodney king got out easy with our tax money because the cops beat da f uck out of him. Arrest the idiot, take him to the court, charge him w/ maximum possible violations and lock him up until he is 70. Dont issue him a license ever again so he has to walk for the rest of his life.

The question I haven't researched in a while is:

What's the going rate on prison labor, and do any criminals ever successfully pay back their prison time + court costs + (possibly) any civil damages?

The counter-balance is, what price do we pay to uphold the law?

Enron executives are still living the life of the rich and shameless. . and our tax dollars tie up a bazillion number of patrol cars and news helicopter, etc for a stolen car. .
