Question Holiday Decor ?

So I've noted several homes put out their Christmas Decor early this year, think maybe its a way to bring some smiles to everyone or maybe 's
Myself I like seeing it when I normally would NOT put it out / up till Dec 1st

Preference on decor if you do partake?

Inflatables vs Non Inflatables?

I don't mind seeing the Inflatables [ when they're ON and up ] butt seeing them all lying FLAT on the grass during the day is unappealing to me

I have a guy down the street that did the Clark Display a couple years ago & covered his whole Roof
We also have a street that almost all the homes partake in a group deal where they connect strands over the street from house to house
Kinda fun to drive down slowly & view from your sun roof or drop top but man they put SO MUCH work into it

That's a great idea to connect the houses. It must put out a community vibe. (M is with you though - he'd usually not put anything up before December 1st and NEVER before Remembrance Day.)
With Diwali happening closer to Christmas this year, I'm willing to bet there are some houses who have lights up for both holidays. It's uplifting to see them either way...You know, when it's dark at 4pm.

Oh and I'm generally indifferent about inflatables. Also generally indifferent about decorating the outside of the house, which is why I never do it.

Yeah and the Streets name is Amaryllis I'll try n get a vid this year, I know we've gotten one from Nick's Sun roof before

They also almost all have done this idea that one of them started of making these PVC pipe HOOPS over the driveways and trees with a simple tall pipe in the ground then light strands coming down from it into the cone shape of a tree a few have themes too.

I remember in mamish one street was people would drive to it every year & drive slow thru the court. Mechanicals , Music playing etc...

wonder if its still there I'd send Eeyore butt he'd prolly say Bah Humbug

Yesterday I did the Clark job of pulling out every strand and testing , prolly tossed at least 3 strands that were 1/2 dead, I don't deal with trying to replace a bulb to fix it
may start wrapping trees but no lighting yet also bought one of the Light Projector dealio's and tested it last night and was quite surprised at how well it worked for only $19.00

Charlie-the-deer-head might go up. Don’t tell anybody, we threw the tallest of our two fake trees out. We have our small tree, Charlie, and some stockings.

The Rockefeller Square tree in NYC looks like it suffered Covid-19 this year, not a very good tree based on their past standards.

I’ve mostly been staying away from the news but did hear about the tree. Pretty sure they didn’t cut that sucker down in NYC, which means it was probably packed up somehow and trucked in. If it’s been horizontal for awhile we might just need to wait for gravity to kick in?

Yup it came from upstate New York, I thought it might need some help unfolding too, but they will make it look pretty with all of their decorations regardless of it being a bit sparse. They should invest in a fake tree that can be re-used.
