Oh yes, next I have to extract to honey, I'll do that next week. We are headed to Alaska tomorrow and the frames can just sit in the diningroom waiting!

Really tho getting the honey off the hive feels like a big accomplishment to me, after that the extraction is easy!

This site was down all afternoon, really till now, I just got home and it works!

Nancy,

I was PMed this question from someone too shy to ask ( but it wasn't mom)
Can you taste the difference between your homegrown and store bought ... on nekkid skin, heated slightly in the microwave?

OK ... welllll maybe I added the nekkid skin part anddddd ... alright Mom didn't PM me but if I just asked if there was a difference that would be boring.

actually I am also curious to know. When I live in snohomish they actually had the honey factory right in the town. I don't think it is still there, maybe the building is. Mom or brant do you happen to know the name?

I don't know the name, but I can surely ask around. I've got several friends that grew up in Snohomish and would know the place you're referring to...

not really important, just a trip down memory lane It was a brick building with a honeycomb on it, my grandma probably knows it, she's lived there for many many years......

Yes, the flavor is more complex than store bought. Think Coors Light compared to a microbrew.

Microwaving honey is not a good idea as it kills vitamins and enzymes, just warm it slowly under a heat lamp or in a hot water bath. Then lick it off whoever you want E ticket!
