Actually I would say that the bullet would hurt her ..... unless you just hit her with the pistol, then it would be the pistol that hurt her ..... if it was the person pulling the [trigger] that hurt her, then the pistol would obviously not have been used as the instrument for the hurting, and would therefore be superfluous to the whole scenraio !!

 

well you the bullet doesn't come out of the pistol unless there was someone pulling the trigger. thus the whole hurting her can be avoided if that person didn't pull the trigger in the first place.

 

I don't deny that fact. I would still maintain that it is the bullet that actually creates the pain though, not the person pulling the trigger.

You could pull the trigger with no bullet in the gun and create no pain, therefore the action of pulling the trigger does not, per se, create the pain, otherwise it would be create regardless of whether there was a bullet present or not .....
