Nowdays ,dvd is a common gadget in our digital life. we store favorite songs , video clips and pictures on blank dvd .Also ,we buy dvds from local store or online for newest movies ,music brands and fancy games.

If you get a ipod ,psp or smartphone like blackberry and you want to your music stored on dvds to play on these device ,what gone you do ?

Cellphone and portable device can not directly read dvd disc , if you want to watch your dvd video on them ,you need to rip your dvd to common format such as mp3,mp4,avi,wmv,m4p,which can be played on your device. Here is a step to step guide on how to rip dvd to mp4 video format , if you want to rip it to different one, almost works the same way,just seleclet the proper format you want at step 3,wish it helps.

Step 1.make preparation.

Get some kind of software to do the job before ripping ,usually called dvd ripper .There are a lot of them online , some sore are free and the other are commercial products ,which one you want use ,depends on yourself ,most of them work the same way. Step 2.Click “Add” to open DVD or load ISO, IFO files to Rip to MP4.

Step 3.Click "Edit" to crop and adjust videos.

Under "Profile" selection, click download arrow, Choose MP4 format.(*.mp4)

Under "output" Folder, select the destination folder you want the result to store.



Step 4. Click the “Start” button to start Ripping DVD to MP4.

After successful Ripping DVD to MP4, the result shall be stored on the folder you have previously selected.

If you want to rip your dvd on mac , you need to take more considerision. COZ apple's staff is always unique,only support mp4,m4v,m4p video formats,and it cant compatible with other , so you need pay speacial attention.Here is the guide on how to rip dvd on mac

Step 1: Load DVD

Launch DVD Ripper for Mac, click 'Load DVD' or 'Load IFO' to add DVD files.



1. Load from DVD Rom: All the DVD files from both DVD Rom and daemon tool will be automatically detected and recognized by the program.

2. Load DVD folder (data DVD), sometimes you may store the DVD folder in your hard drive, it appears like "Video_ts" "audio_ts" folders. You can load it by clicking the "load DVD folders" button.

3. Load ISO image files, you can amount your ISO files in the daemon tools and then load the DVD movie from the virtual DVD drive.

4. Load IFO Files: Click to import your DVD movie by loading IFO files

Step 2: Select the optimized output format for DVD on Mac

After loading DVD to the Mac DVD Ripper, choose the chapters or titles you want to rip, then click 'Format' to select the output format from the drop-down list. Click the 'Settings' button to set the video and audio parameters


After selecting a format for output, click 'Apply to all' and all the output video formats for chapters or titles you selected are the same as the selected format.

Step 3: Edit the Video (Optional)

Trim: If you just want to rip clips from your DVD movie, you can click the Trim icon to capture a clip. In the Trim window, you can trim the length of the current title/chapter by dragging the Start Time and End Time sliders.

Crop: If your DVD video has black sides or you just want the certain scene, you can use this Crop function to remove them. Click the Crop icon to open the Crop window, and set the video crop area by choosing optimized proportion from Zoom or dragging the crop frame or setting the four crop parameters (Top, Bottom, Left and Right).



Merge: Check 'Merge into one file' to join all selected DVD titles and chapters into one video after the conversion.

Adjust effect: If you want to change the original video effect, you can click the Effect icon to set the video brightness, contrast, saturation, and even audio volume. You can also apply a artistic effect to your movie video from the Filters including Gray, Emboss, Negative etc.

Step 4:Start conversion
After all the settings, click the 'Start' button to start ripping DVD to destination format.
