I prefer to have several armed goons come in, threaten me at gunpoint, and parade me through the entire building just so everyone can see me getting canned.

On a related note, I have a friend that quit via email. He basically sent an F you email to his bosses and never showed up at work again. Kind of unprofessional but to each his or her own.
