I think James knows all too well that they do apply (unfortunately! )!

James, did you show your wife that crazy things thread?

Peter, I'll bet you've had some high-speed adventures out your way, eh?

I decided against drawing my wife's attention to this web site

And you are right, every now and again the car does remind us that the laws of physics can be pushed, but not broken

Fair enough, James.

So, when's the next trip up to the mountains? I could really use a retreat like that. This week at work has been unconscionable (sp?), especially after coming back from vacation

Actually I've been trying to behave myself recently as one of my brothers lost his license for a month for speeding and the other was fined the very next day.

They eventually both saw the humorous side to it, if I get caught I would have egg on my face so I think it's safer that I drive a little more cautiously for a while.

I will be going up to the mountains next weekend, work permitting, .....

I lost my licence in the UK, about 10 years ago, for speeding ...... I didn't really see the funny side of it at the time, but I hadn't told anyone in the company that I had been stopped (105 mph in a 70 limit) and knew that I would lose my licence within the next few weeks. Anyway, at a Christmas party, a couple of my friends got the DJ to play "Won't you come home speedy Gonzales" and dedicate it to me...... with all of the Partners and bosses from work there !!!!!!!

I saw the funny side a few days later, but at the time, I was NOT AMUSED!!!!!

I had my face on for a while yes .......

In fact the Partners at the company took it pretty well......

I was very lucky, I only lost my licence for 2 weeks, which meant it didn't affect my job at the time but it did cause a few worried about the company cars, since so many of us in the office had what the insurance company considered "poor" driving records
