I was.....
I always find cops in the U.S. play the speeding thing a bit too close to the posted limit. I've heard people tell me they get tickets for 5 mph over.
In Canada I drive by cops every day at 18 km/hr over without even lifting throttle, I know they won't get their fat rears ouI was lt of their cars for anything less than 20 km/hr lol. I've done this for years and never had a ticket for it as long as I stay under 20km/hr over. We seem to get a bit more leeway here.

The county sheriff's here are like that. I once got a ticket for going 37 in a 35, I said to the deputy you are kidding. He said no the speed limit is 35 and you were over it. They USED to handle the patrols at the resort and would have 5 or 6 cars at a time pulled over for speeding then they pulled over the President of the resort and gave him a ticket contract was not renewed after that. Our town police is the exact opposite they always say their goal is to get people to slow down not raise money and they generally give out warnings instead of tickets unless you are doing something really dumb.
That sounds like some parts of Ohio. One of my tickets was on I-75 between Cinci and Detroit, I was in a pack of maybe 15 cars, all going 70 in a 65. Saw the cop going the other direction, whatever, no big deal right? Well like 20 minutes later he pulls me over, gleefully giving me a $70 speeding ticket. Given his labor rate and the cost of chasing me down for probably 30 miles at a high rate of speed, endangering everyone on the highway, the county/state most certainly lost money on that one. Just staggering stupidity.
I also got stopped in Indiana once for having the audacity of accelerating up to the speed limit. After an hour on the side of the road hoping he'd score a DUI for his troubles, he wrote me a warning for 80 in a 60 to justify wasting his time.

The flipside is that I also got stopped a fair number of times doing stupid shit (not endangering anyone but myself) and never got anything worse than a "slow down" or "save it for the racetrack".
For sure. Frustrating that tax payer dollars are spent harassing people for a token penalty. Indiana cops generally got to "keep" their patrol car, usable for personal purposes if wanted. So the guy that pulled me over had put a sweet aftermarket stereo in his patrol car. But there were 2 instances when I saw a marked car witness an egregious red light run and just ignored it because they didn't care. One of them involved me almost getting t-boned by a guy who was going probably 70-80 in a 45 and ran the light that had been red for a good 4 seconds. The cop just looked at me like I was an idiot for almost getting killed and then drove off. His kid was in the passenger seat. Really endearing the police force to the public.

Our cops are too lazy to write small tickets, if they are going to get out of their vehicles they want to issue a big ticket only. There doesn't seem to be any impetus to raise money through tickets to pay for their departments like you may find in the U.S., it is almost a business down there by the sounds of it.
I was surprised to find that gas in the big city is in fact 12 cents more per gallon than at the gas station at the resort that I live at. A certain person who may or may not have demetia keeps saying that gas prices are lower now. Not seeing it.
