I don't know whether San Francisco is paying attention. I'm working in Sunnyvale right now.

we were called into the court room and the judge informed us that prosecutor showed that he meant business b/c he was ready to do jury selection. The defense blinked and they settled. We don't know what case it is. I read the paper today and there was no mention of any plea bargain.

the last time I was called to jury duty they had a murder trial that ended in conviction months later. I wasn't part of the jury on that trial.

at least I won't be making a thread like this for a year

I thought you didn't get paid until you were on a jury.

A co-worker at dinner last night was recalling how he got called for jury duty on a John Gotti, Jr. trial and the long involved process by which jurors were selected due to the parties involved and the nature of the case. He said that he wanted to do his duty but the questions asked all but eliminated most jurors including him.

some guy from La Crescenta was caught illegally dumping toxic waste into the ocean. He was also caught poaching some endangered bird nests for eggs claiming they're for his dogs.

That's my asshole neighbor, Joe, across the backyard fence. He's an ophthamologist who treats children while high on peyote buttons.
