In fact, you could've gotten some points with the judge for explaining what a good doobie you were being!

I did actually get a few bonus points from the judge .... I had a barrister defend me in court (a friend who had just qualified ), and the police evidence said that they followed me for half a mile. He argued that they told me when they stopped me that they had followed me for significantly further than that, and that it would suggest that I wasn't causing a danger at the speed that I was doing since they would have stopped me much earlier if I had been ......

It was only because I already had a speeding offence on my licence 6 months earlier that they decided to suspend my licence ... but it was only for 2 weeks because of mitigating circumstances ....
