Salt is the tool of the devil. They use it in Ontario but not in Alberta. Alberta is colder so the salt doesn't work so well... they DO put a ton of sand on the roads.

My brother lives there (Calgary) and drives a Miatasport Protoge. It's going to be it's first winter and I fear for it.

I think xviper has the same situation... Too cold, so they sand more than salt.

I think the sand is less risk to the long-term life of the car, John.
