This is the first recipe that I tried. For the fruit I used rasins. I've since started adding about a cup of shredded coconut and will substitute rasins for crasins. I pretty much use this as my base recipe and just change the mix ins. I've substituted pecans for the almonds and added chocolate chips and coconut which was very chocolatey. They tasted more like a cookie than a granola bar. I find that using a 9 x 9 sheet makes for granola bars that are too thick. Try using a 9 x 13 pyrex dish or maybe even a larger jelly roll pan. Depends upon how thick you want the bars.

I've made these but skipped the dates since I don't like dates.
