Check your owner's manual, but I'm pretty sure your Civic will be fine with 10W30.

because its mother screwed the wrong parts manufacter and it didnt get any higher on the food chain

at least its smart enough to say what it covers up

Unless you plan on leaving the same oil in until winter, the 10w-30 is basically the same weight. 5w will make a difference when it's very cold out, but not in the summer.
