What is the update I'm too lazy to google it? I remember seeing an ad in Car & Driver or Autoweek or something.

A chocolate bar. Presumably it will assist in lowering my work stress, along with a little ing. If not, at least I still enjoyed it.

the traffic sensor and europop.i think those are the two that i had to get updated. in ohio we have those traffic sensor thingies on our highways that set off radar. basically, it made it act like i was getting hit with instant-on every few miles or so.... the radar became useless... so i updated one of the radar detectors to try it out.. it works great.. so now i'm sending the other one back this week.

When I get home I will have to check my serial number and see if I need any updates. Last time I did so they didn't recommend that I needed to get the updates but that was a couple of years ago. I haven't hard wired mine so I just move it from car to car as a result I keep having to buy suction cups. I wonder if I can buy them in mass quantities?

Email them actually... i bet they'd just mail you some... I know when my phone cord was getting all stretched out, they mailed me a new one no charge.

I'm sending my other one in tomorrow..I just boxed it up.

this is the update i needed to make it worthwhile in ohio:

Upgrade Recommendation: You already have our best performer, enhanced by crystal-controlled frequency tuning. More recent V1s, however, have two additional features. Traffic Monitor Filter eliminates the K-band false alarms caused by a traffic flow-measuring system being installed along some U. S. highways; SpeedInfo sends frequent K-band radar bursts into the traffic stream (www.speedinfo.com to learn more). If you drive in an area with one of these systems, this upgrade will pay off immediately. Extended Serial Protocol (ESP) enhances two-way communication with SAVVY and future peripheral devices.

I should call V1 with serial # as well, but I just never think about it. It pretty much works without a problem all around the area. I was baffled a few years ago when I got hit with laser and it didn't go off but I know it's working fine because it's saved me a few times with the always on radar that they have one when moving.
