My mom and grandmother would always give me Canada Dry Ginger Ale when I was sick lol.

How about Tahitian Treat, did you ever drink that ?, I used to like it when I was young.
Ginger ale is still my go to when I’m sick, it’s also what I always drink on airplanes. Kinda weird ginger ale was a “sick” drink for so many of us.

That's true Sam, my ethnicity is Italian and it was a staple in the family, but only when family members were sick. If you got the flu or a cold, or stomach ache the ginger ale came out immediately. It wasn't consumed at any other time though lol. Always Canada Dry Ginger ale here.

Do you have a certain ethnic background Sam ?

Ah, that is interesting, nice to know. This is funny how many of us were given Ginger Ale when we were sick.

My go to Ginger Ale has always been Canada Dry , and I understand the correlation with Ginger and helping to settle one's stomach. But Canada Dry was sued in recent years for falsely advertising it used real ginger in its formula, now that was a bit of a kicker. lol.

In England we used to drink Lucozade when we were sick, not sure why Ginger Ale was chosen as the replacement for us when we moved here as Lucozade was orange flavored and ginger ale certainly isn't

Ginger Ale and Vicks Vapor rub were staples when we were sick. Another thing that comes to mind is stuff called Mecuricome it was an antiseptic used to prevent infection but it was weird because it was red and I always thought it looked like blood as a kid.
