Different pressurization spec on the 787 (vs. aluminum planes) would change the way food and drink tastes, because of the reduced stress on the sinuses and Eustacian tube? Or am I huffing paint again?
What's the difference in the specs? Unless they're thickening the skin and/or adding in more ribbing (heh, "ribbed, for her pleasure"), I would imagine the pressure specs internally will be roughly equivalent. Next time, bring an atomizer and a cup of water... inhale atomizer, inhale coffee, inhale atomizer, inhale coffee.

The 787 uses CFRP instead of Aluminum for the tube. Aluminum planes (i.e. every plane flying right now) pressurizes to the equivalent of 8000 ft; the 787 will pressurize to 6000 ft. That should work out to be something like 11.7 PSI vs 10.7 PSI (sea level is ~ 14.7 PSI).

The relative humidity will also be slightly higher, as CFRP/CF doesn't corrode.
