Okay. Well I was pulling away from a set of lights, turning right across a main road (remember we drive on the other side to you yanks ). Had a friend in the car who had only been in it once before, never with the top down, and never experienced the roar of VTEC at 9000 revs ......

So I floored it from the lights, turning at the same time .... no troubles yet.... as I got straight down the road, just as I hit 9k, I snatched at 2nd, dumping it in a quickly as possible and stepping off the clutch (not exactly the smoothest change I have ever made ). Anyway, this was when I heard the tyres chirp a little (never managed that into second on a dry road before!) and the back started going....... fortunately, a quick dab of opposite lock brought that car back straight and off I went with a somewhat quiet passenger in my car

It was just a bit of a shock to me, as I have never been able to make the back slip in the dry at all ...... and last night it was quite an impressive slide indeed !!!!

I must say though, that the tyres were probably a bit too cold still ....

James! You got sideways! Congrats. I've been hoping to do that too someday -- intentionally, that is!

Break out the Pampers!

When I am in the car on my own I often try to provoke it, but have obviously never pushed it quite hard enough ......... last night was showing off I guess I pushed that little bit harder than I have done before

I wish I'd been in the car with you, James. I may indeed have to track my "Nebuchadnezzar" just so I can get my jollies.

A friend of mine long ago used to take his POS rear-wheel chevy into a big parking lot in icy winter and we'd practice "controlled" skids. I might be tempted to do the same thing with the S this winter, but probably not.

If you can find a space large enough without light poles or kerbs you should go for it I used to love doing that ..... I took my grandad's Rover 2500 out to do that one day

Excellent Charlie! One of my favorite holiday sports! Even did it with a dump truck once!

I used to do that in the States with my RX-7.

You could do some serious circles in that thing on the ice.
