My dad was doing the same, he has his medical on thursday this week and cut out all of the junk food / sweets / alcohol etc for the last week ...

Actually, you are instructed to fast prior to blood work. I think it's more for glucose testing than anything, but I'm not sure.

I had to drive to the garage with no bars lit and the fuel sign on on Sunday ..... I was getting very nervous that I wasn't going to make it !!!
