When it rains normal Seattle style, water will trickle in and the sump pump has no problem keeping up. When it rains 1.5"-2" in a 90 minute time, there's just too much water to pump out.

Inspector noted water damage from past flood, which was attributed to a failed sump pump, rather than a flawed design.
