Okay. Very frustrating. I've gotten a grand sum of 2 compliments, one from a male coworker (who is not gay and who has a very beautiful wife). I've never gotten a compliment on my hair in the last 10 years, but I shave it off and suddenly I'm hearing "you had such nice hair" from all my female friends.

BTW... I came up with a great fish story last night... goes something like this...
So, my hair was getting kinda long... time for a cut. Being the cheap bastard I am, I thought I'd try one of those beauty school places where you get the $3 cut. My haircut is really simple, so no real risk. So I go in, sit down with this really pretty girl, #2 on the side blended to a #3 on top, go to town... She's cutting, we're kinda flirting, and I took a liking to her... so she gets done, and I wanted to keep talking, so I asked her to take off a bit more here and there... I was trying to work up the nerve to ask her out, and kept having her trim a bit more off. Finally we got to a point and she's like sweetie, you don't have any hair left. I balked and just paid her and left. So, no hair and no date... all around bad day.
What's scary is that everyone believed that's something I'd do... I suck

Awww Jeff! I think it might be because people just take things for granted - they get used to seeing things, you know? I don't get complimented on my rack, but I bet if I got a breast reduction I'd never hear the end of it. 
Besides, Mikey's right - you can grow it back if that's what you want!
