Interesting conference
I just spent 2 days at a conference all about 6 foot long tubes to stuff down your throat and 5 1/2 foot tubes to stuff up your bum. Oh yeah and they're about a 1/2 inch in diameter.
Cool huh?
While I was there they displayed an option to this enchanting practice. Cameras in piills that you swallow. They're called "Capsule Endoscopes" and they are REAL. It's like living in the freakin' future.
The pic is of some non working samples I have but the real ones are available. $400 and they may not need to stick big tubes down your throat.
The cameras will take images at the rate of 14 per second (7 per sec at each end of the capsule) for 20 minutes for the esophageal camera (white at left) and 2 per second for 8 hours (beige capsule at right - single camera at one end). They still don't have a camera that will work long enough to take pics of your large intestine so you still need to have tubes up your bum.

Your call. 'Given' is the company that makes "PillCam" but Olympus and others are doing it.
Though I'm impressed technically I'm not so impressed financially. The development of this tech seems to be moving from the innovators to the big corps. If I was going to invest it would be in the articulated c'scope. But they're pre-IPO.
