jedwards does something
Hey whores.
I'm back to tell you something and not just lurk as usual. Some of you know I sold my S once the track bug bit me hard. I bought an Elise and the bug bit harder. Soon I was instructing and didn't have time for you lot, but then it got worse. I started racing nearly 6 years ago. LeMons was the gateway drug, but soon I was racing Spec E30. I had plenty of victories and a total wreck of my first car (I was fine). I rebuilt and had a great year. That was 2013 and '14.
Last year I packed the E30 in styrofoam peanuts and concentrated on LeMons with the team I'd raced with since '11. We raced 5 races and I did an amazing 20 hours of racing seat time. Our results were worth the focus. 3rd, 3rd, 61st (we were crashed at Buttonwillow), and a 2nd at Thunderhill in September. I turned sixty in October.
So in December we raced the last race of the season. I raced 5 of the 14 hours. Six stints... I did the second (3 hour stint) and the final (2 hour). At hour 12 I went out in 3rd place and as the sun went down, with my teammates and all of our wives completely coming undone, I took the checkered in first. f@#k you sixty.
Truthfully there are few moments in my life that compare, and I wanted to share with my long time friends in the Corner (even if most of you are asking, "Who is this guy? And why is he whoring in red?"
Big hugs!
