he went 18's to fit around his new 6 pot 14" brake kit. They are crazy huge. I saw the rotor at his shop one day, its nuts! Too much for the little IMHO, but thats what people want

my friend was talking to docofmind back and forth when he bought his '03 spa. he originally wanted to go with the same brake kit as docofmind.
18" on the S is HUGE...i guess for the '04 + it's a +1 though.

On the S, all that much brake is is extra weight...

the rotors, yes, but the calipers are much lighter. I don't know about that 14" kit, but I'm putting the 12.2" on next weekend and I should lose about 18 lbs of unspring weight in the calipers alone. the forged aluminum 4 pot is only 2 lbs

Good point...hadn't though of that aspect. Are the stock calipers really THAT heavy?!

apparently so. I got that info from sherwin himself. I can tell you more next week, but the wilwood forged calipers are literally featherweight, they are amazingly light. First time I picked one up I expected them to be much heavier. Like when you are out of milk, but you are expecting the carton to be full so you slam it into the roof of the refrigerator.......
