Keep at it... it's not the things we do in life that we tend to regret, it's the things we don't do.

I don't know if I agree with that ... many of the things that I have done in life I have regretted deeply !!!!

yes TJ, but I'm sure you don't "regret" while in the midst of doing it!!

Well... I'm saying that if there's something you want to do and you (for *whatever* reason) don't do it... you'll regret it years from now.

So, for the last few days my Apple Powerbook has been making a weird noise and even vibrating while doing it. It only happened once in a while, was a very short burst and had no real pattern to it. My laptop is fairly new and I was afraid the hard drive might be a lemon. Or maybe something is wrong with the superdrive as I had just burned a ton of DVDs the other day.

So far I have:
1. Made sure all my system software was updated.
2. Updated my virus definitions and scanned the system.
3. Shut down the system overnight and rebooted.
4. Removed the battery for a while.
5. Cycled a series of CDs and DVD through the superdrive.
6. Checked the Apple website for any recalls, etc...

But the strange noise still would happen from time to time. Damn it, I really don't need to lose my hard drive right now.

Well, I finally discovered the problem.

My PS2 Dualshock 2 controller sitting just behind the Powerbook. PS2 left on with GTA running.

Nothing wrong with my Apple.
