displacement DOES lie, james, in OE stock production cars, but as far as horsepower potential goes, engines with more displacement will ALWAYS have an advantage

I still disagree with you Alex, but I think I mainly disagree with because you are Alex !!!

I agree if you you take a very simplistic view then you would be correct, but not all higher displacement engines have the capacity to produce more HP because of the basic design of the engine ....

true, you also have to consider design, esp. of the valvetrain, bore/stroke ratio, fuel system, etc., but mod for mod (or part for part, rather), the higher displacement engine should THEORETICALLY make more power
