I don't think it is THAT dangerous on a straight road away from the lights with a couple of hundred yards visibility .......
the guy on the bike was obvioulsy pushing it away from the lights and I just stayed quite close behind him ..... and gave him a bit of a shock when he looked in the mirror

Had a run with an RX7 on the way to work this morning !! 
I definitely had him away from the line but unfortunately I was behind him and didn't get a chance to get up beside him due to traffic. I had to ease off in first so as not to go into the back of him, but he was definitely trying because a split second later he seemed to get into his power band a leave me because I had had to ease off
Did this three times down one stretch of road, it was great to stick with him away from the lights though
