M that's not what the players want. I don't think there are more than a dozen or so players in the NJL that will get (deserve?) the NFL size bankroll. Shite the spending cap for a whole team is proposed by the owners to be 42M. The players countered with 49M. That's not going to buy you a very big NFL team.

All things considered the players have bargained in good faith throughout (though Goodenow can be a jackass). We've come back to this time and again in this thread but it's the owners who are not. Bettman is employing Boulwareist tactics (take it or leave it) which is illegal many places... I don't know why he hasn't been sued.

The players proposed they take a 24% pay cut... they did that months ago. I'd pretty much say that's sucking it up... wouldn't you?
