Look for a tiny crescent moon at around 8:30 just after sunset. It will be high in the sky and slightly to the west. Saw it last night coming home from the airport.

The next full moon will be Aug 28th. It will look full on the evening of the 27th but at 3:37 am on the 28th it will be full AND a total lunar eclipse. The total eclipse will start 2:52 am and end at 4:22 am. It will be a weird copper colour for this time. The partial eclipse will be for the hour before and the hour after the total.
