Looks like Microsoft really REALLY hates Apple
I didn't see any Mac's at MS.....
Except mine!
Next... the iPod.

Athlon 64 at 2.7 GHz
1 gig CAS 2-2-2-5 RAM
Mobo with onboard 10/100/1000 LAN and 6 channel audio.
Dual GeForce 6800GT SLI video cards (you can get a single 6800 GT as an upgrade on the G5)
74 GB 10000 RPM system drive
RAID 5 controller with 4 160 GB 7200 RPM drives (480 GB logical partition)
16x DVD-ROM
8x DVD-R
Case of your choice, 430 W power supply, keyboard, optical mouse
WinXP Professional...
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice Core $219
2 gigs OCZ CAS 2-3-2-5 RAM $258
Asus A8N-SLI $159
(2) eVGA 6800 GT cards $638 (probably overkill... a single will suffice for most non-gamers)
74 gig Raptor $181
NEC 3540A DVD-R $40
Liteon 16x DVD-Rom $22
Lian-Li PC-V1000 $199 (Lian-Li makes or designs Mac's cases... very good BTW)
Antec Truepower2 550W $119
WinXP 64 pro $152
Keyboard and mouse $50
Promise RAID5 Controller $210
4 x 160 gB western digital SATA drives $350
That's $2600 for a system that is more capable in every way than a G5 with dual 2.3 GHZ procs (which would cost $3500 to get close spec wise, and still have a less processor power). For that same $3500, I can move up to an AMD X2 processor, dual 7800GTX cards, and make it a 750 gig RAID. Or you could keep the price the same, ditch the SLI video cards (which mainly benefit gaming anyway, in area which Mac is non-existent), move to an X2 4600+ (dual 2.4 GHZ cores), save some money on the power supply and mobo, etc. Lots of options for making a system that suits your needs...
