1:00PM: Indices are off their highs, but are holding on to the bulk of today's gains... Medical Equipment stocks have been in focus today following data released at the American College of Cardiology... Shares of Medtronic (MDT 54.76 +1.29) have surged to a new 4-year high after a key stent study demonstrated statistically significant improvement in all of its endpoints, prompting Prudential to upgrade MDT to Overweight due to improved revenue and earnings contributions...

 

Good stuff. Medtronics is a good firm.

 

Also US stocks now look cheaper to the rest of the world with the exchange rates as they are ... which is not good for me as I have a US$ based salary and have some UK sterling outgoings
