Joe Flaherty , one of the funniest Canadians after John Candy. He was actually born in Pittsburgh, but spent most of his life working in Canadian comedy. Many greats like him and Candy came from Second City in Canada, may he RIP, he was always good for a laugh. The characters he played over the years were so funny.

My sweet, goofy gentle giant, Stan Lee. Unexpected diagnosis of bone cancer. He wasn’t a working dog but he definitely patrolled the property so amputation wasn’t a humane option. In his last days he had visits from 2 and 4 legged friends, pizza, lots of belly rubs, and naps under the cherry tree with his head in my lap. We are SO sad.

I am so sorry for your loss, I totally understand how sad it is to lose a pet having lost a few in recent years. No different than losing a family member (that is what they are). I still feel the pain of losing my pets, it is so hard my wife and I often told each other that we would not get any other pets because it is so hard to say goodbye to them. But then we realize that we give our pets tremendous love , it makes their lives so much better.

Take solace in knowing that you gave your friend so much love and a great life while they were alive and they know it. I've been told that our pets are waiting for us in the spirit world, someday we will all meet again.

BTW , that is such a cool name you gave him.

Thank you for “getting” it. I’ve found so many people have been understanding and haven’t dismissed my grief because he was “just a dog.” He absolutely was a member of the family.

I decided on his name literally as I was bringing him home as a puppy. I wanted a human name but figured it would come to me when the time was right. On that drive home I heard on the radio Stan Lee had passed away. I love Deadpool and so it just made sense.
