We'll be viewing it from our front yard, weather permitting.

Broke down the big scope, set it up in our front yard. Saw the Mercury transit for about 1 1/2 hours , then got clouded out , broke the scope down again, and set it back up again in my office. I was hoping for better, but it was worth it. Got to share it with some neighbors.

Some people don't listen or can't focus or I don't know what. I was telling people at the gym this morning about viewing the Mercury transit with the scope yesterday. I explained that Mercury passed in front of the sun. I got comments like "You could see it OK from your house? City lights didn't interfere?" and "Yeah, I was reading about that. I really wanted to see it, but we had people over for dinner last night and they stayed kind of late."
