Nice, Peter. Nice. Spent Saturday ripping up some crappy carpeting in my kids' playroom (which was eminently satisfying ), and today was a big soccer (*ahem*, football) day for my 6 year old!

Went to see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," with the fun police last night, and that was really, really great!

Hey, did you ever see the Aussie film "Castle," Peter? That was one that wasn't widely distributed in the US, but I seriously got a laugh out of it!

Sounds great Charlie.

How did your son go at soccer? (James isn't here so I think I can get away with calling it that)

The "Castle" was great! No-one here thought it would get a good reception in the US. The people that made it also did another one called "the Dish" which is also pretty good. I don't know if they ever released it in the US though?

Aaron's right here with me. Here's what he wants to say:

"It was really great. I scored the last goal of the day! It was the best!"

I'll have to look for the Dish since I loved Castle!!!!

Congratulations Aaron!!!

Great stuff.

The Dish is set in rural NSW so the characters are a little different to the Castles western suburbs of Melbourne characters and it's probably not as funny but it's a great film.

Just finished putting the boys to bed. I'll show Aaron your post tomorrow, Peter!!! He loves the smileys here in the Corner, but I have to watch which threads I open up (if you know what I mean)!!

I enjoy watching Aaron's soccer games. Every match is a pretty substantial improvement. Today, for the first time, he actually moved away from the ball on attack and got open for a pass. Not that his teammate actually passed the ball , but it's a start!

Kids sport is always great to watch, especially when you can monitor the improvement as they develop in a sport.

During AFL (Australian Football League) games at half time they have little league games where kids come onto the ground and play on smaller ovals that are setup. It's great fun to watch and I'm sure the kids would love playing in front of crowds that big too.

John,

I remember when you posted about it. I thought it was LOL funny!! Chick flick or not, hysterically funny! Nice to score points with the fun police at the same time as getting a chuckle, eh?

Peter,

That's that they do that at the Aussie football games. What we've got televised here, they don't show that. That is one tough game though, ain't it...? Do the kids play with pads?
