There should only be 2 500 mile races (Daytona and Tally) and 1 600 mile race (Coca Cola). All other races should be timed to no more than 2hr30mins, and if a track has 2 races a year, they should have different configurations. IE, the normal Daytona 500 runs the oval, and the July 4th race should use the road course.

Oh and shuffle the schedule so teams don't have to cross the country over and over.

Nothing Dave or I have said is new. People have been saying the same thing for years. The problem is that everyone in power doesn't want less - the track owners don't want to give up their events, the TV networks don't want to give up their races (even if the ratings are down, they're still good), etc.
The track logistics definitely need work. Michigan seats something like 70,000 people, it has two giant parking lots, and both parking lots empty onto the same 2 lane highway. There's just no way to empty it out efficiently, but it seems like they don't even try. Of course, other than adding a lane or two, which would have to be paid for by the city or state, there's no fix. And for 2 events a year, there's not a lot of support for it.

We used to go in via the Bus Shuttles that are in between Gilbert & Phoenix with Nick's In-Laws but last race they quit offering that service so we had to drive in & park.
Camping there is fine as we did for INDY & LG M & 2Tall come , we meet them @ the gate then after they hang at our spot for awhile to avoid the creep n crawl out
No Indy there next year
