Mom, I made a big mistake
about Jack Johnson. When he was knocked out in Havana after fleeing the U.S. for a trumped up violation of the Mann Act (crossing interstate lines for the purpose of having extramarital sex), it was by Jess Willard, not Primo Carnera.
And don't you find it rather curious that the photo of him laying on the canvas, in an outdoor stadium, after having been "knocked out," shows him shielding his eyes from the sun. I really believe the fix was on that day. What do you think?

He's not my friend. He died before I was born. I was just trying to point out that we live in a much different time than did Jack Johnson, for whom the boxing public clamored for "The Great White Hope."
