I think planning is a must if you want to travel round China ..... it is not the easiest of places to travel if you are not with someone who reads/speaks the lingo !!!

 

I figured it would be important. I think alot of research is vital. I can count to ten in Cantonese though, that should be enough......

Is Cantonese still widely spoken or is it more Mandarin?

What is left, right, straight, and stop? I think I need to get a phrase book.

 

In southern China I guess Cantonese may help but I would have thought that Mandarin would probably be more helpful .........

Stop - lido
put "mgoi" after everything to say please .....
