True but: Linux (Ubuntu) > OsX
Oh, and Gentoo >>> *
I like what I know about Ubuntu. I use Redhat but like the "Best in class" approach of Ubuntu (or Kubuntu depending on your love of KDE). Easier for most folks *not* to have a zillion choices. This I think will popularize Linux even more.
A couple of Vista preview videos. I believe the first one Ken posted a while back..the 2nd and 3rd I had not seen.

Hi Jack!

Hi Jack!
JohnI've only started playing with Gentoo. It's a pain in the ass to install, definitely not for beginners. But I like the fact that everything you install is (or rather, can be) completely optimized for your hardware.
It has a "package managing system" (portage) much like a lot of other distributions. The difference however, is that instead of downloading and installing pre-compiled binaries, portage actually downloads source files, and compiles on your machine during installation, using optimization flags you pre-configure (I configured portage to compile with the highest level of optimization, and to take full advantage of my processor - i.e., use any special instructions, features etc to make the program faster).
The downside is that if I were to copy my copy of apache to another Linux machine, it may not necessarily run there.
I guess you could think of it as a Linux distribution for hacker wannabes like me.
Uh... I'll be leaving that one alone.
