They were trying to get on the LIRR, but in typical fashion, they froze in terror realizing they were at Grand Central, and not Penn.

could be. I seem to remember hearing something that they wanted to start using Grand Central for some LIRR trains. Must have been dreaming because I'm not quite sure how they would accomplish this.
