Actually Josh the ones they had at Costco were in huge like 5 gallon containers so I was assuming they were for outside in the ground

Most of the orchids that are available in Costco would be fine for indoor... Phal, Dendrobium etc. the ones for outside aren't as easy to find. I'm thinking Sensibium (sp?) is good for outside as long as it doesn't get frost. Bring it in on those nights/days.

Phal will grow outside in SJ. Too hot and cold in Ptown

Thanks John, I think that if I was to have one Outside it would have to be in a pot in the Summer otherwise I will think about indoors

My mom used to have orchids, which she got from my grandma (do these things really live that long?). She gave them to an uncle of mine, since she isn't really interested in orchids.

They were all outdoors. Don't ask me what species though.
