My guess: IB owns something like 200 forums... almost all of them are on vBulletin, which is actually a much better platform than the clunky POS that S2KI had been limping on. Transitions are hard, especially with 16 years of data that was generated over multiple different software platforms.

I think from a look perspective, the old forum looked more modern. The new interface resembles every other forum from the early 2000s.
I like some of the new functionality like the toolbar at the top.
I HATE that all my settings went back to default. Old threads are on top, everyone can see my private info (until you turn it off), most of my signature doesn't show anymore, and the damn forum keeps logging me out every god damn 30 minutes even though I said "Remember me"

My address, car and whatnot were all set to public info after this most recent update 
luckily the address is old, but whatever! Still annoying...
