Now that's a modernized version. Sophocles wrote three plays about Oedipus Rex called the Oristean Trilogy. Oedipus killed his father, married his mother, blinded himself in a rage, and was tricked in to eating his first two children. Not a happy camper. I read the Oristean Triligy in high school.
